Second attempt

Dovac, I don't know why you removed the fixme as this image still needs to be fixed. The crease is still slightly visible on the background, there is a blue line going across the image which shouldn't be there, and it also has screening and dust.

crease: cannot see it
blue line: fixed
screening: I am not good at it

Did you use greycstoration? I can see 'shadowing' next to the lines which you get if you incorrectly use it.

greycstoration always gives me the message bad allocation, and I was not able to set my Neatimage to remove the noise completely without adding some shadowing.

I still have the file before neatimaging. You can try it if you want to. The shadowing for the other one should not be as strong as this one.

Try the GIMP & G'MIC. The patch-based smoothing works very well.

Point me toward the file please.

Looking at what you've had to work with I don't think it would have been easy to fix it without going OTT with the filters. Nasty bleed-through on it as well.

PM = Prime Minister. In other words it was a sly allusion to the fact we still have the useless bastard and will likely have for a good while yet ;p
