Perhaps this idea is old and maybe it’s not very good, but I’d like to put it forth anyways. I think that it would be really cool to have suggestions of pictures that you might like that could then be ordered in the usual ways (random, score, etc).
My goal is to go beyond using tags to find new stuff.

One way that I think this could be done: your favorites could be compared to other users and you would be directed to some common favorites amongst users with similar preferences. I would be very willing to help with this project. My strongest language is Java and I know some C, HTML, and CSS, but I’d be willing to learn whatever it takes to do the project (SQL? and ???). [[spread]] - 111 uses. I know what a magazine spread is, but it seems to be applied to a bunch of other posts that are just in landscape format.

[[pinup]] - 404 uses. I'm taking this to be posters that you're meant to hang up on your wall. No one seems to use this anymore.

<forum-post parent_id="" title="Name that game" creator_id="23627" body="AZD here. I need help in finding a certain game. The only way for me to search it is if I know the name. I can remember some details but not the name. Work with me please?

#1: The game's platform is the NES [Nintendo Entertainment System].

#2: The character is a doctor...a sleep walking one.

#3: You don't actually control the sleepwalking doctor.

#4: What you control are the platforms that can help him...they can also kill him if you make a mistake.

#5: The platforms that I believe are pipes...although that may not exactly be it.

#6: I do know there are two different pairs of platforms that you can control that raise or lowers them...they are two different colors.

#7: Green platforms are controlled by pushing the [A] button while the Red Platforms uses the [B] button.

#8: I don't know whether they are those EXACT colors but I know there are two different colors. If there are more...then I do not know of them since I haven't completed the game.

#9: The way the game is setup is like a puzzle maze...at least that's how I think of it.

#10: You must help the sleepwalking doctor make it to the goal by controlling the platforms. Since the doctor is sleepwalking, the game is like a horizontal side-scroller starting from left to the goal at the right.

#11: You must think fast of when to raise the platforms or lower them for him since he doesn't stop at all...he's sleepwalking after all...although there are ways you can stop him in his sleepwalking path with the platforms. That can prove helpful.
On higher levels, timing the platforms as well as planning ahead on what to do is key. The games levels are like puzzles and you must think and figure out on getting the doctor to the goal in one piece with the platforms.

EDIT:
#12: I remember that there were enemies to stop you.

Well that is all I remember. I hope those details help you in naming that game for me. Part of me of being a gamer is beating the games I have played. Since I haven't completed that game in the past, I really want to do it now by using an Emulator. I recently had a dream about it and I now have the urge to search for it and play it.

Until I await my November Reserved games which is COD Modern Warfare 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Naruto SCONRevolution 3 (Shame that R-Type Tactics 2 is pushed back to February 2010. Hopefully they have the time to make a English version when that gets released), I want to start playing the games of my past and that game is one of them.

So please - anyone - help me?

On a un-related note:
THIS LOGITECH WIRELESS KEYBOARD F*CKING SUCKS!!!!
I have to constantly re-check my words here since some buttons don't respond in inputting sometimes. The mouse is just as worse at times. You can't be too far OR too close to the wireless catcher...thingy. Anyone got a better wireless keyboard and mouse you can suggest to me?

<forum-post parent_id="" title="what's your processing?" creator_id="11634" body="I think we should exchange our own processing to improve quality of scans.
Let us show your processing (and forgive me my poor English ^^)!

For me,

1. adjust only color levels manually (not use auto levels) while a scanner shows a preview, and make other filters all turnd off.
2. scan all with 600dpi.
3. if scans have moire, resize them into 300~450dpi.
4. apply Greycstortion twice with different settings.
1st setting is p=0.7~0.8, a=0.2, α=1.0~1.5, σ=5.0
2nd setting is p=0.4~0.6, a=0.4~0.6, α=0, σ=2.5
(this settings may give you overfiltered images)
5. finally, open them with a paint tool like Opencanvas or SAI, and repaint them to erase some dusts, creases, and characters.

thanks ^^

Unzip into your PS plugins directory like any other plugin.

- Previewing parameter changes is substantially faster than doing it by hand.
- Click "preview" to view changes to settings. (This isn't done automatically; I don't remember why off-hand.)
- Hold down the left mouse button on the image to compare against the original.
- Hold down the right mouse button to compare against the last settings you previewed.
- While holding right mouse button, you can left-click to revert to the previous settings.
- Alt-mousewheel zooms.
- It remembers settings, but it doesn't have a mechanism to save settings to "profiles" or anything like that. Instead, use Photoshop actions to record settings. Similarly, it can be used as an action in automation for batch processing.
- 8-bit and 16-bit images are supported (32-bit images aren't).
- "Stage display" shows intermediate stages of processing, which can be useful when tweaking parameters.
- SMP is fully enabled, and (unlike the original algorithm) should not cause tile-shaped artifacts. It's still not a clean 1:1 speedup, but it can be 3x faster or better than single-threaded on my Q9300.
- There are some preview box glitches, but nothing that affects use.

Feedback is welcome, though I can't promise that I'll spend much time on it, since it's reached the point of "works well enough" and I've never intended to make a serious project out of this (just making it available since it's probably useful to a lot of people here).
